Erling Haaland has reached 100 appearances in his record breaking City career.
The Norwegian striker has been a revelation since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022, claiming the Premier League Golden Boot in both of his campaigns to date.
He played his 100th match for the Club in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, scoring an incredible 91 goals on the way.
That means that at the start of his third season at the Etihad Stadium, only 21 men have ever scored more goals for the Club than the 24-year-old.
A truly devastating forward who can dominate defenders and turn a game on its head within a moment, Haaland’s impact at City cannot be overstated.
He has been Premier League Player of the Season, FWA Footballer of the Year, PFA Player of the Year, runner-up in the Ballon d’Or and Best Men’s Player at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Along the way, Haaland has broken numerous Club and Premier League records as he sets his stall out as one of the great goalscorers this county has ever seen.
First season
Haaland scored a monumental 52 goals in 53 appearances in 2022/23. That is the most goals ever scored in a season by a Premier League player across all competitions.
With 36 goals, he broke Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s long-standing joint-record of 34 each for most goals ever scored in a Premier League season.
On his way, he scored six hat-tricks – as many as every other player in the Premier League combined.
He was also the first player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick in three consecutive home games and the first player in Premier League history to score in each of his first four away games.
His 22 home goals was a record for most goals scored at the Etihad Stadium in a single season and his 12 strikes in the Champions League is a most a City player has ever managed in one season of the competition.
Second season
Despite missing around two months of the season through injury, Haaland still racked up an incredible 38 goals in 45 appearances in 2023/24.
They came at an average of one goal every 98.55 minutes across all competitions, while his Premier League strike of 27 in 31 games again earned him the top spot amongst the division’s best goal getters.
In November when he scored in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, Haaland broke yet another Premier League record, becoming the quickest player in the competition’s history to 50 goals.
He took just 48 matches to hit the landmark, an astonishing 17 games fewer than the previous fastest of 65 matches set by Andy Cole.
Later that month, in a win over RB Leipzig, the then 23-year-old became the quickest and youngest ever player to 40 Champions League goals as he moved into the top 20 of all-time scorers in the competition.
He also hit five goals in a game for the second time in his City career in 2023/24, tearing through Luton Town in the FA Cup.
With the new season now under way, who knows what heights Haaland can hit over the next 12 months?
