The Al-Hilal number 10 is eagerly anticipating his return to official matches
In the semifinal of the Saudi Super Cup this past Tuesday (13), Al-Hilal is very close to winning another national title. Still without Neymar, the team overcame Al-Ahli in a penalty shootout.
Aiming to help Al-Hilal in the 2024/25 season, Neymar continues to work towards returning to official matches after nearly 10 months away from the pitch. Missing out on the Brazilian National Team for the Copa América, the number 10 also intends to regain his good form and take on a leading role with the national team again.
When will Neymar return? See the new expected return date
According to information from the Saudi press, Neymar is expected to return to the pitch between the end of this month and the beginning of September. Although the forward is making physical progress and has started training with the ball, Al-Hilal continues to treat the Brazilian star’s return with great care.
With the 2024/25 season starting off well for Al-Hilal, Neymar missed the semifinal of the Saudi Super Cup, where the team defeated Al-Ahli on penalties. It’s worth noting that the Saudi League begins on August 22, allowing more time for the Brazilian star to prepare for the competition.
Understand Neymar’s injury
Out of action since October of last year, Neymar suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. While representing the Brazilian National Team in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, the forward was injured during the match against Uruguay.
Rejoining Al-Hilal in July, Neymar is making progress in his recovery to return to play. Working with the ball, the forward continues to adjust his physical condition, aiming to be 100% ready for the start of the 2024/25 Saudi Championship.
