Back at Barça, the Spanish midfielder reflects on the Brazilian’s performances in the blaugrana jersey
During his official presentation at FC Barcelona, Dani Olmo was asked about the best players he has faced throughout his career. Without hesitation, the Spanish attacking midfielder answered, “Neymar.”
This statement reflects the respect and admiration Olmo has for the Brazilian star. Both players operate as forwards or attacking midfielders and share an exceptional technical ability that allows them to make a difference in crucial moments.
After coming through the ranks at Barça’s prestigious La Masia academy, Olmo chose to continue his development at Dinamo Zagreb before joining RB Leipzig in 2020. Now, at 26 years old, he’s making a grand return to the Catalan club in a reported €60 million move.
Like Neymar, Dani Olmo is known for his ball control, creativity, and goal-scoring instinct. Both players are capable of unsettling any defense and are key figures for their respective teams.
At the international level, Dani Olmo has also established himself as a cornerstone of the Spanish national team. With La Roja, he notably won the UEFA Nations League in 2023 and Euro 2024, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer.
