Manchester City have one game left to play before the next Premier League campaign begins.
After playing friendly matches against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea during their pre-season tour of America, City will be facing off against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium for their latest Community Shield clash.
The last time the two Manchester sides met was in the previous FA Cup final, also at Wembley, during which the Red Devils beat the newly-crowned Premier League champions 2-1.
Now that City are set to face off against their close rivals yet again before the league season starts next weekend, we have identified one player in the squad who we feel should be included in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI for Saturday’s clash in the capital.
Pep Guardiola must start Oscar Bobb against Manchester United
In our opinion, Oscar Bobb should be one of the first names on the teamsheet for Saturday’s showdown against United.
Last season saw the winger go through his first campaign as a regular figure in Guardiola’s squad, scoring two goals and delivering the same number of assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.
Bobb could cause serious problems for United
Having scored two goals and delivered three assists across the four friendly games he appeared in across the pond, this showcases the top form he’s in and why he should be a definite starter on Saturday.
In fact, having been described as “electric” by Guardiola after his performance against AC Milan, Bobb certainly has what it takes to be a real danger for United and their defence.
Moving forward, if Bobb does start against United and is able to have a big impact on the game, he will put himself in a good position to remain in the starting XI for City’s opening Premier League match against Chelsea.
