Chelsea’s transfer policy under the new ownership has been clear for anyone to see in the past two years.
While they have continued to add to their current first team throughout the transfer windows since Todd Boehly and co took over, there has also been a clear aim to strengthen their side for the future.
Before this summer, the highlight addition had been Kendry Paez, who has already made an impact for the Ecuador national team.
Despite his brilliance, they may well have gone one step further in this transfer window with the signing of Estevao Willian, with both players set to join next summer.
It looks as if they are now going to continue in that manner, with reports linking them to the signing of Gabriel Mec from Brazil.
Gabriel Mec keen on move to Chelsea
Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that the youngster is keen on the move to Stamford Bridge.
He said: “Chelsea are planning to advance on Gabriel Mec deal after presenting their project to 2008 born Brazilian talent.
“Gremio wonderkid open to the move as Chelsea will now work on club to club agreement for Mec.”
There is plenty of excitement already about Mec’s talent. Analyst Ben Mattinson has likened his playing style to Brazilian superstar Neymar.
It was claimed earlier this month that the Blues were looking to get the deal done imminently, however that has so far not been the case.
Many supporters will be hoping the transfer business concerning the first team is not over yet, with Enzo Maresca preparing for his first campaign in charge in the Premier League.
Chelsea close to signing new goalkeeper
Pre-season has certainly not been seamless so far under the new boss, and there is no doubt a number of positions that many will be hoping are strengthened.
One of those being reported heavily about is goalkeeper, with Filip Jorgensen reportedly completing his medical to join the club this week.
