Santos FC is willing to make a gesture for Lamine Yamal after a viral picture online.
Neymar Jr. is the idol of Lamine Yamal, who has impressed lots of football fans this past year. Yamal is 17 years old but had a great season with FC Barcelona and a great campaign at the EUROS with Spain as a 16-year-old. Yamal has spoken many times about how he looks up to Neymar and Lionel Messi but mostly focused on the Brazilian as the inspiration he took on his game in football.
Yamal has been amazed by Neymar for many years, and while he celebrates on the pitch when a goal is scored, he celebrates like the Brazilian winger. Spain won the European Championship against England last week, and during the celebrations, he continued his admiration for Neymar as he danced like him at the Spain celebrations of the EURO 2024 win.
Now on vacation, Yamal was wearing an old Santos FC jersey that Neymar once wore in the early days of his professional career. The Brazilian club saw the popular image of Yamal wearing the jersey and is offering the Spanish winger to go to their stadium so they can give him a new personalized jersey for him to wear.
Santos FC posted the image of Yamal wearing Neymar’s old Santos jersey and wrote a proposal for the Spanish winger.
The message read, “This shirt is very historical, Yamal. We will give you the new shirt. If you prefer, you can come to Villa Belmiro and take the opportunity to visit the hallowed stadium of world football during your vacation. Cheers in black and white, Nino de la Villa!”
Yamal was active on his Instagram as he followed Neymar on the social media platform, and now the Brazilian legend follows him back. This seems like a dream come true for the young Spanish winger, who always looked up to the Brazilian winger who was a star at FC Barcelona.
Lamine Yamal on Neymar being his idol
Lamine Yamal was asked about his idols in football during the past season, and while he recognized Lionel Messi to be the greatest football player ever, he still prefers Neymar as his favorite player. Yamal said, “Why did I like Neymar more than anyone else? Because he made me to go watch the games, he made me have fun, it was a show, it was nice to see him play.”
