Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have started preparations for the 2024/25 campaign at the City Football Academy.
The Sky Blues began preparations for the upcoming season at the City Football Academy this week, with a handful of first-team stars joining Guardiola for training sessions in east Manchester ahead of a four-match tour of the United States later this month.
Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Ederson and Oscar Bobb were some of the most notable players to return for Manchester City, with the Blues providing extra rest time to those involved in both the European Championship and Copa America.
Manchester City, who will bid to win an unprecedented fifth successive Premier League title next season, start their title defence in west London, facing Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday 18 August.
Guardiola’s side will also conclude their Premier League campaign in west London against Fulham at Craven Cottage, and additionally face Manchester United in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium next month.
City, who also won the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup last season, are scheduled to play four matches in the United States ahead of the clash at Wembley Stadium against local rivals Manchester United.
Guardiola’s side will play friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona and Chelsea, with matches taking place in North Carolina, New York, Orlando and Ohio.
Croatian pair Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol are expected to join the travelling squad in the US, after the duo were dumped out of the European Championships at the group stages.
Imminent signing Savio is not expected to participate in the four-match tour, however over a dozen members of the academy could be involved, as well as Kalvin Phillips, who spent the remainder of the previous campaign on loan at West Ham.
