Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, along with his coaching team, has set out on a crucial mission: to bring out the best in Kylian Mbappe, claims a report from Diario AS.
It must be noted that Mbappe’s performance at the European Championship was underwhelming, having scored a solitary goal and providing two assists, and Real Madrid are determined to help him bounce back.
Interestingly, Real Madrid understand that the French star’s challenges are not just limited to his physical condition after a collision with Austrian defender Danso in the first Euro match.
Since his strong performance against Real Sociedad in the Champions League round of 16 last season, Mbappe has struggled to maintain his form and this dip in performance has drawn criticism, particularly from his home country.
Tough times don’t last
Despite this rough patch, Mbappe, who will be presented as a Real Madrid player on July 16, has had his best scoring season with Paris Saint-Germain, netting 44 goals in 48 games.
However, his time in Paris has been overshadowed by controversy. The issues began in the pre-season when PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi excluded Mbappe from the first team, leaving him out of the summer 2023 Asian tour.
Consequently, Mbappe had to train alone, labelled as ‘unwanted,’ a situation that significantly affected his preparation for the season.

Mbappe’s troubles didn’t end there. In February, he informed PSG that he wouldn’t continue his career with the club.
This led to coach Luis Enrique limiting Mbappe’s playtime in league matches, stating that it was to help the team adjust to playing without him. These decisions, combined with the relentless media scrutiny, have impacted Mbappe’s performance and personal life.
Antonio Pintus will be put to work
To tackle these issues, Real Madrid have turned to Antonio Pintus, known for his rigorous training methods. Pintus, often called ‘The Sergeant,’ is famous for his tough physical sessions.
He has been pivotal in Real Madrid’s recent successes, including winning two league titles, two Champions League titles, a Copa del Rey, a Club World Cup, a European Super Cup, and two Spanish Super Cups during Ancelotti’s second tenure.
Mbappe will undergo the ‘Pintus Method’ for the first time this preseason, a training regimen that has been highly praised and successful at Real Madrid.
The goal is clear: to ensure Mbappe is in top physical condition to help Real Madrid win the European Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14.
This mission is not just about improving Mbappe’s physical state but also about rebuilding his confidence and form.
Ancelotti and his team are dedicated to supporting Mbappe through this challenging period, hoping to see him return to his peak performance.
With Pintus’s guidance, they aim to transform Mbappe into an even more formidable player, ready to conquer new heights with Real Madrid.
