It is undoubtedly the biggest transfer of the year, which has been years in the making, but the 2018 World Cup winner has finally made the move – much to the glee of Real fans.
And it was made official that the forward would wear the No.9 shirt at the Bernabeu, following in the footsteps of Ronaldo, Raul and Karim Benzema.
According to Marca, the announcement that his shirt was up for sale saw the club’s online store crash.
There were so many orders that the webstore had to display a message to warn shoppers that their orders will be seriously delayed because of the demand.
When compared to Real’s other superstars like Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, the delivery times were significantly shorter.
In such a case, delivery was expected in three to four business days, whereas Mbappe shirts could take as long as six weeks, it was warned.
The boom will see Mbappe shirts break records for sales, according to Marca – truly remarkably considering the superstars that have walked through the Madrid gates in the past.
Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane are renowned as just a handful of some of the legends of the sport to play for Los Blancos.

But Mbappe might yet be the biggest profile of them all if shirt sales are anything to go by, and all of this before kicking a ball.
Mbappe is set to introduce himself to Real Madrid fans on July 16, a common tradition for big-name players at the club.
The Bernabeu is expected to be at full capacity to greet their latest Galactico, where he will walk out onto a hue stage on the Bernabeu pitch, make a speech, perform some keepy-uppies and sign autographs.
Having nearly signed two years ago before penning a contract extension at PSG, it will be the ideal opportunity to put that behind him and start afresh with his new club.
Winning the Champions League will be top of his wish list, having won several league titles in Paris and the World Cup with France, no experienced no joy in Europe’s top club competition.
The closest Mbappe has got to becoming a European champion before was in the 2019/20 campaign, when he led PSG to the final but then suffered 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in Lisbon.
