There ain’t no meowntain high enough for this big cat.
Yuliya Minina, from Stary Oskol, Russia, claims her 3-year-old Maine Coon cat Kefir is “the largest cat in the world.”
She regularly posts content on her Instagram as well as Kefir’s personal TikTok page showcasing his unfurgettable size, the Sun reported.
In one Instagram video posted on Minina’s page last month with over 2,000 likes, Kefir stands on his two hind paws and manages to open a door handle to make his way into the family’s yard.
He later sprawls himself out in the grass like a gargantuan cat-erpillar before taking over half of a reclining chair and climbing a tree.
Cat lovers couldn’t help but paws and leave a comment on the video.
“So beautiful!! ,” wrote one adoring fan.
“So big. So smart,” said another.
In another Instagram video posted about a year ago, Kefir stands almost as tall as Minina’s 4-year-old daughter while she prepares food in the kitchen.
Kefir is one tall glass of water and aptly named after the cultured milk beverage that resembles his milky-white fur.
While it’s not clear just how big Kefir is today, he made headlines back in 2022 when he was just 2 years old and already weighed 28 pounds, which is more than the average Maine Coon and the average toddler.
Male Maine Coons typically weigh an average of 18 pounds and females are 12 pounds on average. The cats typically reach around three feet in length, including the tail.
“I could not even think that an ordinary baby can become so big,” Minina told SWNS back in 2022.
And Kefir could still be growing in size.
“Maine Coons grow up to 3-4 years. Therefore, I think it should become even larger,” she said last year.
Minina said Kefir is sometimes mistaken for a dog and that he has a playful and gentle demeanor.
“He not only grew up big in appearance, he is also very smart and always behaves calmly,” she said.
“The look is generally like that of a person, and Kefir has a formidable appearance, but he is a very affectionate and modest child,” she said.
Kefir’s size and cuddly nature can sometimes make cat naps uncomfortable.
“At night he likes to climb on me and sleep. When he was a kitten, it didn’t cause me any inconvenience,” she explained. ”But now he has become big and heavy, and, of course, it is difficult to sleep like that.”
