According to ESPN, the former Paris Saint-Germain, who is Brazil’s all-time top scorer, was left out of the team due to a knee injury.
However, the South American football powerhouse has been doing well without the forward, with the likes of Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo stepping up.
Dorival Junior’s charges have picked up four points from two of their Group D outings, with their opener against Costa Rica ending in a goalless draw last Tuesday, June 25.
However, Brazil got their campaign back on track on Saturday, June 29, by securing a 4-1 huge win over Paraguay.
Neymar sends Vini message for copying his celebration
Vini Jr played a vital part in Brazil’s victory, with the Real Madrid star netting a brace to steer his side to victory.
The forward opened the scoring in the 35th minute before Savio doubled the advantage in the 43rd minute.
The 23-year-old completed his brace on the stroke of the first half, with Omar Alderete scoring Paraguay’s consolation shortly after the break.
However, it was Vini who was the man of the moment after he copied Neymar’s iconic celebration.
Per Sportskeeda, the trademark celebration involves cupping the ears and sticking out of the tongue.
Neymar took to Instagram to react to Vini’s celebration by juxtaposing a picture of the celebration with the caption:
