Numerous players have moved out of Manchester City throughout Pep Guardiola’s time in charge of the club.
Since the 53-year-old took charge of the Citizens back in 2016, players such as Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer have waved goodbye to the Etihad Stadium to join other clubs.
With another summer transfer window currently open for business, some interesting behind-the-scenes information has come to light regarding how City have been given the opportunity to potentially bring one of their former players back to the club.
Man United offer Man City the chance to sign Jadon Sancho
According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, Manchester United have offered City, as well as Arsenal and Chelsea, the chance to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.
The report also adds that the Red Devils would ideally like to see the winger for £40m this summer but would be willing to sanction a season-long loan deal that would see one of the three contacted clubs be obligated to sign Sancho on a permanent basis at the end of the loan.
City should not consider signing Sancho
After making 35 youth appearances for City, the club sold Sancho to Borussia Dortmund back in the 2017 summer transfer window.
In 2021, United spent £73m (via BBC Sport) to bring the 24-year-old to Old Trafford before then loaning him back to Dortmund last January after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag.
During his time with the Red Devils, the former City youngster scored 12 goals and delivered just six assists in 82 appearances across all competitions.
Even though Erling Haaland called his former Dortmund teammate a “proper baller” back in January, we don’t think that City should consider signing Sancho this summer, regardless of United’s willingness to sell him for a significantly lower fee than the one they paid for him in the first place.
