Kylian Mbappé played a friendly match to prepare for the match against Poland.
Kylian Mbappé was not able to play in the last France match of EURO 2024 because he was not at risk because of his broken nose. France drew 0-0 against the Netherlands, and fans were not convinced of the team as many suggested that Mbappé was a huge missing piece to keep the team ticking. France is on four points in Group D and is sitting second, as the Netherlands is the group leader with four points as well but has scored more goals. France’s next game is against Poland this Tuesday, and while the manager, Didier Deschamps, is unsure whether to risk Mbappé and play him, the French star proved to him that he is vital to play in the match. According to Julien Laurens, Mbappé played in a friendly match behind closed doors yesterday with his mask on. He played 60 minutes and registered two goals, and provided two assists. Mbappé played against Paderborn’s reserves today, which is a German team from the second division.
According to L’ Équipe, Mbappé also did not wear his mask during the friendly game. He had his white nose protection on. The French player seems to be fine and wants to play in the next match against Poland, as it could confirm the team is advancing to the next round and potentially finishing first in Group D ahead of the Netherlands and Austria.
Mbappé was sitting on the bench the whole match against the Netherlands, and the French star was giving instructions to the players since he was the captain of the team. The captain for the match was Antoine Griezmann, who had chances to score but he couldn’t convert them. Mbappé is expected to play in the knockout stages of the competition.
Tchouaméni mentions Mbappé missing to be the problem with France
After France’s 0-0 draw against the Netherlands, Aurelien Tchouaméni spoke about the result and said that Mbappé’s absence is hurting the team. Tchouaméni said, “It is clear that a player like Mbappé is missing.” France only had one goal in this tournament, which was an own goal by Austrian defender Maximilian Wober.
