Brazil always produces many talented players, and the hype for Endrick Felipe continues to grow. Brazil played against Mexico last night in a friendly match ahead of Copa America. Brazil defeated Mexico 3-2 with a last-minute winner from Endrick, who scored a header in the box. He became the second youngest player in Brazil’s history to score three goals with the national team. He is only behind the legend Pelé. This is Endrick’s third goal for Brazil in the last three games, as they all are from the bench. Endrick will most likely start during Copa America after impressing England, Spain, and now Mexico. He will be joining Real Madrid this summer after the Copa America and is seen as the future of Brazil and Real Madrid.
Endrick spoke after the match against Mexico and was happy to score another goal for the senior national team. Endrick said, “They say I’m too small to be a number 9, but it’s not a question of being small, it’s the positioning. Scoring goals is something that I really enjoy, it’s all thanks to my teammates. The goal is to win the Copa America.”
Endrick was asked about the comparisons between him and other players in the Brazilian national team. The young striker said, “We’re playing for Brazil, you Brazilians have to support us. We don’t want to be comparing whether I’m better than Viní Jr, whether Viní Jr is better than Rodrygo. We’re a family here, and all of us Brazilians are a family. The goal wouldn’t have happened if it hadn’t been for the help of Viní Jr & my teammates, I didn’t score alone. Breaking records? I just want to help, to play for the National Team. I don’t care about records, I just want to enjoy.”
Brazil’s next match
Brazil still has one more friendly match before the start of Copa America 2024. This Wednesday, Brazil will take on the USA, who lost 5-1 against Colombia in a friendly match yesterday. They will play against Paraguay and Colombia in Group D.
