PHIL FODEN is set to be the highest-paid British player in history when he returns from the Euros.
Manchester City want to tie down their jewel in the crown with a near double-your-money deal that will rocket his wages to around £375,000 a week.

Foden has three years on his current contract and there is no danger of him getting itchy feet or being lured away.
But City are keen to reward him for a stellar season — and frighten off Real Madrid and Co.
Foden, 24, picks up around £200,000 with bonuses but his pay hike will put him on a par with Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
The Etihad academy product was the star man in City’s fourth top-flight title win on the spin, which was capped by him being named Premier League and FWA Player of the Year.
Etihad sources claim the idea is to begin working on a new agreement before the season.
The new deal for Foden would take him to his 30th birthday.
The club will free up a decent chunk from their wage bill over the next 12 months and do not expect any major hiccups in sorting out fresh terms.
Foden has already won 15 trophies — including six title medals — and wants to beat Ryan Giggs’ all-time record of 13 Premier League crowns.
In the meantime, Foden will be focused on winning his first international silverwere with England.
He will be part of the Three Lions squad to fly to Germany for Euro 2024.
The team’s preparations were far from perfect as they lost their final warm-up match against Iceland 1-0 at Wembley.
The players were booed off the pitch due to their lacklustre performance.
Foden was one ace that failed to hit the heights that he had shown during the Premier League campaign.
As well as winning player of the season, he scored 19 goals and assisted eight in the league.
