FC Barcelona will start to look for new players to sign this summer as the summer transfer window will soon open. The Catalan club wants to compete with Real Madrid, which is on top of Spain and Europe. Barca’s rivals have won the Champions League and are set to sign Kylian Mbappé. Barcelona has just appointed Hansi Flick, which is a great sign for what is to come at the club, and one of the reasons for that is the potential return of Neymar Jr. to the club. The team under Xavi Hernandez wouldn’t have seen the Brazilian star returning any time soon, but Flick would have made that possible. Marcelo Bechler reported that Neymar has a better chance of returning to Barcelona with Flick. There is now a door for him to return, but during the period with Xavi, it was not like that. The plan to bring him back would be in the summer of 2025 when Neymar becomes a free agent.
Neymar is currently with Al Hilal, and he joined the Saudi Pro League club last summer from PSG. He signed a two-year contract that expires in the summer of 2025. The Brazilian star only played five matches with the club as he suffered an ACL injury in October while playing for the Brazilian national team, which sidelined him for the rest of the season. Neymar would even miss the Copa America that is coming up.
Despite the injury, Neymar celebrated three trophies in his debut season with Al Hilal: The Saudi Super Cup, the Saudi Pro League, and the King’s Cup. Neymar was rumored to leave the club this summer, but he feels motivated to return to the pitch and play a full season with Al Hilal. After next season, Neymar’s future could be uncertain as he is linked to Inter Miami, Santos FC, and now FC Barcelona.
