Kylian Mbappé is practically a new Real Madrid player to many football fans, and now new reports suggest that there is no chance for him to play in the Summer Olympics. Mbappé isn’t yet confirmed to be a Real Madrid player, but French president Emmanuel Macron wanted to convince the club president Florentino Perez to let Mbappé play in the Summer Olympics this summer. According to L’Équipe, Perez does not intend to give in to Emmanuel Macron and has no intention of letting the French star play at the Olympics in Paris. Perez is getting his revenge by not listening to Macron’s request since the French president had a part to play in derailing Mbappé’s transfer to Real Madrid in 2022.
Mbappé was very close to joining Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, but instead, he decided to renew his contract with PSG. Many believed that his move to Real Madrid wouldn’t happen anymore since Perez felt betrayed. PSG announced the renewal of Mbappé as if it were a signing. PSG made the signings of Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Archaf Hakimi, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG now feels betrayed by Mbappé as the player promised to renew his contract with the club. His contract expires this summer, but the French club hoped that Mbappé would extend his 1-year option clause till the summer of 2025. Mbappé was even prohibited from playing the PSG squad earlier this season until he decided to renew his contract. Mbappé was also very close to joining Saudi Arabia as Al Hilal offered him a luxurious contract to play there for one year to then play at Real Madrid the year after.
Kylian Mbappé wins another individual award with PSG
Mbappé once again received an individual award at PSG as he was awarded the Ligue 1′s top scorer trophy for the 6th consecutive time. Mbappé scored 27 goals and provided seven assists in 29 Ligue 1 matches this season for PSG. The team won the Ligue 1 title once again, and after 34 games played, PSG ended the season with 76 points with 22 wins, 10 draws, and 2 losses.
