Kylian Mbappe looked genuinely taken aback by a new impressive waxwork model of himself in France’s kit for Euro 2024.
♦ Unveiling at exclusive Paris event
♦ Mbappe called waxwork ‘sensational’
♦ Will soon be moved to Berlin location
WHAT HAPPENED?
The stunning design was unveiled at a Madame Tussauds pop up in Paris, with the PSG striker joined at the exclusive event by his father Wilfrid and several members of his entourage. After pressing a button to drop the curtain and reveal the sculpture, Mbappe seemed amazed by the quality and when examining the creation, he commented: “It’s me, 100 per cent!” Mbappe also joked “it’s more Kylian than me!”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
According to L’Equipe, the waxwork took an incredible amount of work to complete, involving around four hours worth of photography, as well as facial and body analysis. It is designed with Mbappe’s trademark arms folded celebration and it will eventually be moved to Madame Tussauds’ location in Berlin.
WHAT NEXT FOR MBAPPE?
After recently confirming he will leave PSG at the end of the season, Mbappe has just two games left at the club – Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday and the French Cup final against Lyon. Euro 2024 will then be the primary topic on the 25-year-old’s agenda and his move to Real Madrid could be confirmed before the start of the tournament.
