How many goals has Erling Haaland scored during his career? Man City superstar’s crazy stats in full

The Norway international has been scoring for fun throughout his career, but just how many times in total has he found the net?

Death, taxes and Erling Haaland scoring. The three certainties in life.

The Manchester City attacker has been scoring for fun following his move to the Premier League and ended the 2022-23 campaign as the top goal scorer, breaking plenty of records along the way.

That was by no means the first time Haaland was banging in goals for fun, though.

He did it at Borussia Dortmund. He did it at Red Bull Salzburg. He did it at Molde. And he did it during his time with the Bryne youth academy.

And we haven’t even talked about his performances for the national team at both youth and senior level yet.

Remember when he scored nine goals in one game at the Under-20 World Cup in 2019?!

Yes, we agree, the man is an absolute phenomenon and he seems destined to break all sorts of goalscoring records in the years to come.

Just how many goals has he scored so far, though?

Let’s take a look.

How many goals does Erling Haaland have for Manchester City this season?

It’s fair to say Haaland didn’t need much time to adapt to his new surroundings following his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund.

He drew a blank on his official debut in the Community Shield clash with Liverpool, but quickly showed what he’s made of in his first Premier League game, scoring twice against West Ham.

And just to make sure his critics wouldn’t have any ammunition whatsoever, he quickly followed that up with hat-tricks against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United before we were even midway through October.

There was no stopping Haaland in 2022-23 as he ended the season lifting numerous trophies, both at club and individual level.

Can he repeat that success in 2023-24, though? Early signs clearly show he can!

How many goals did Haaland get for Borussia Dortmund

Many expected Haaland to make the move to RB Leipzig after impressing at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, but he opted to move to Dortmund instead as he felt he had a better shot at regular first-team action there.

Fair to say that was a decision he will not have regretted.

A hat-trick on his debut was the perfect way to introduce himself to the Bundesliga and Haaland was unstoppable at times during his spell with Borussia Dortmund.

He ended up finding the net an impressive 86 times during 89 appearances in all competitions.

Haaland’s Red Bull Salzburg record

His time at Salzburg was very much a case of short, but sweet.

Haaland joined the club in January 2019 and left again one year later. Not before scoring a truckload of goals, though.

He had a bit of a slow start as he netted once in his first half-season, but then truly exploded in the first half of the 2019-20 campaign.

He netted eight goals in six Champions League group-stage games, while adding another 16 in the Austrian top flight, with his hot streak including hat-tricks versus Gent, Wolfsberger (twice), Hartberg and Parndorf.

Haaland’s stats for Molde and Bryne

HAALAND AT MOLDE

His first season at the Norwegian powerhouse was a quiet one by Haaland’s standards, but his second year at Molde already gave a glimpse of his immense potential as he hit double figures – and then some.

His quadruple versus Brann in September 2018 in particular caught the attention of followers of the game across the globe.

HAALAND AT BRYNE

He had been scoring goals for fun at underage level and for Bryne 2, but life at senior level proved to be somewhat difficult at first for the boy wonder of Norwegian football.

Still, he did enough to convince Molde of his potential and earn a move to a bigger club.

Haaland goals for Norway

So we already mentioned those nine goals at the U-20 World Cup, but Haaland has been equally impressive at senior level.

He went without goals in his first two appearances for the senior side in 2019, but then properly got going the next year as he scored twice versus Northern Ireland and got a hat-trick against Romania.

There was a hat-trick against Gibraltar in 2021 and then two doubles versus Sweden in 2022 as he continued to add to his tally.

It feels like it’s a matter of time until he dethrones Jorgen Juve as Norway’s all-time top goal scorer, with the current record holder netting 33 times in 45 appearances.

Haaland goals in total by club + country

Haaland has scored most of his goals to date for Borussia Dortmund during his two-and-a-half years at the Bundesliga giants, but it seems inevitable that he will surpass that number at Manchester City if he decides to stay at the Etihad Stadium for another two to three seasons beyond 2022-23.

At international level, the striker might not get many chances to show what he can do at major tournaments as Norway continue to struggle during qualification campaigns, but that won’t stop him from banging in the goals while representing his country.

It’s too early to tell whether that will be enough to reach the numbers of all-time greats such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi at international level, though.
