Only Kylian Mbappe‘s departure from PSG at the end of the season is set in stone. Even though the French international joining Real Madrid has yet to be officially confirmed, speculations continue to intensify regarding his move to the Spanish capital. Now that he is officially free to negotiate his dream move with Los Blancos, attention turns to the finer details, particularly his salary at the new club. Well, a little bird knows it, none other than Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer guru recently sat down for an interview on the ‘Mics’ podcast, episode 6, where Mbappe’s impending move to Madrid was discussed. When hosts asked if he’ll be earning similar or more to what he currently earns at PSG, Romano said, “What I heard is that his salary is going to be in the region of the salary of Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham not to create an internal problem. So, it’s going to be something around €25m [$27m] net per season.”
Interestingly, the financial perks don’t end for Mbappe here. While claiming his alleged salary as ‘Not bad,’ Romano added, “Also, a signing fee will be there, and from what I heard it will be in excess of €100m [$108m] in 5 years, €20m [$21.5m each year].”But is this potential contract an upgrade or a downgrade for Mbappe?
If the World Cup winner were to receive this pay, it would suggest that he took a pay cut to join Madrid. Notably, Mbappe’s salary in the last year of his PSG contract amounted to €75m ($80 m) gross, with an additional €30m ($32m) signing-on bonus annually. Looks like there’s no special treatment for Mbappe ahead of other Madrid stars. While his salary seems sorted, let’s see where the player will reside in Spain.
Here’s where Kylian Mbappe will live in Spain while playing for Real Madrid
According to earlier reports, Kylian Mbappe is currently in negotiations to acquire Sergio Ramos’ lavish mansion in Madrid, valued at $6.5 million. Situated in the La Moraleja area, the property could cost the 25-year-old around €18m ($20m). Interestingly, the deal is being conducted directly between the former PSG colleagues, with Ramos’ brother René and the Senn Ferrero office negotiating with Mbappe’s mother and agent Fayza Lamari.
Spanning 1,000 square meters on a plot exceeding 15,000 square meters, the Sevilla star’s residence boasts all modern amenities while also meeting the security standards valued by Mbappe’s family. Furthermore, reports indicate that Mbappe’s inner circle is interested in purchasing another property in the same La Moraleja area. While Mbappe’s wages are reportedly settled, the exact figure will be confirmed upon the official signing.
