In the Philippines, a group of people were on a walk when they suddenly came across a strange sight: a plastic box on the side of the road. This box had been cut, taped, and even had some chicken wire on it. Naturally, they got closer to investigate, and through the wire, they saw a face.
At First, The Creature Inside Was Hard To Identify
She was incredibly thin, with lots of fur missing. It was clear she needed help urgently. The group opened the box and was shocked to realize that she was a dog, though she barely resembled one.
In a hurry, Jerry, a kind-hearted woman from the walking group, dialed up the Animal Kingdom Foundation to alert them about the distressed canine. She assured them that she’d look after the dog until a professional arrived to rescue it.
The Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) Came To Pick Up The Dog, Whom They Named Daisy
Heidi M. Caguioa, the program director at AKF, described Daisy as initially quiet, scared, and bewildered. Daisy appeared to have given up, unsure of what would happen to her.
The moment they saw her, they knew they had their work cut out for them. As long as Daisy didn’t give up, though, neither would they.

Daisy Was Rushed To The Vet, Where Treatment For Her Skin Infections Began Right Away
Daisy was then checked in at a vet clinic in Quezon City – Vets on the Block. Later, she underwent bloodwork and a series of tests to check her health. The shelter predicted that she’d been neglected for a long time.
The Rescuers Worked Tirelessly To Make Her Comfortable And Gain Her Trust. It Wasn’t Easy, But Little By Little, Daisy Began To Change Before Their Eyes
Now, Daisy Is Back To Her Old Self — She Looks And Behaves Nothing Like The Dog They Found That Day
Caguioa mentioned that Daisy now adores human company. She loves to be cuddled and is quick to warm up to people, although she may be a bit shy at first.
Recently, Daisy found her forever home with a family that had been searching for a dog just like her. She’s adjusted perfectly to her new surroundings. Her journey as the mystery dog in the box is one she won’t ever have to revisit.
