He’s Brazilian like Neymar but plays like Mbappé, the new 19 year old star that PSG could look to replace Kylian

A new Brazilian youngster has impressed fans and is often compared to Mbappé rather than Neymar.

While the new young star many are excited about is Brazilian, fans in Brazil compare him to Kylian Mbappé instead of Neymar Jr. The young new star coming out from Brazil is Corinthians attacker Wesley Gassova. Wesley often plays as a left winger due to his incredible pace but could also play as a striker and as a right-winger. The Brazilian forward is a right-footed player who is also lethal with his shots. PSG fans are aware of the young Brazilian and since his play style is similar to Mbappé, the club could see him as the perfect replacement for the French star this summer.

Wesley has played 20 games for Corinthians so far in 2024, scoring three goals and one assist. The young Brazilian has played 1,152 minutes, which includes 61 successful dribbles, 18 key passes, 662 touches, and has been fouled 34 times. He averages nearly five dribbles per game, and in his last match against Fluminense in the Brasileiro Serie A, he scored a brace. One of the goals was a long shot but the other one went viral since he took out defenders with pace and incredible dribbling skills.

Other than PSG, other European clubs have shown interest in Wesley for the upcoming summer transfer window. Goal Brazil reports that Atletico Madrid, West Ham United, and Real Betis are interested in Wesley. West Ham seems to be the most interested out of any club, as the London club has reportedly made a $16 million bid for the young Brazilian. It is likely that Wesley could soon be paying Europe at the highest level.

PSG already signed Wesley’s teammate in Corinthians

PSG could potentially sign Wesley since they already signed his teammate at Corinthians this year. In the winter transfer window, PSG signed the Brazilian defensive midfielder Gabriel Oscardo for more than $20 million on a four-year contract. Moscardo is on loan with Corinthians until June, and he will be a part of the PSG squad for next season. Now since PSG and Corinthians have made business together, it could be easier for them to get Wesley as well.
