Neymar has reportedly looked at his next destination for his career.
Neymar has played on the biggest stage in Europe for a long time. His time at FC Barcelona and PSG will be remembered as successful since he won many trophies playing for those two clubs. Now, after leaving PSG last summer, things have not gone as planned. Neymar’s move to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal has not gone well for either party as Neymar suffered an ACL injury in October, and Al Hilal has spent lots of money for him while only having him available for five games this season.
Neymar’s contract with Al Hilal expires in the summer of 2025, and the Brazilian is unsure whether he will continue next season. The ACL injury he suffered kept him out for the rest of the season, and Neymar could be fit by the start of next season. Neymar has expressed his desire to play somewhere else after Al Hilal, and a few weeks ago, the Brazilian talked about who he wants to play with again.
Neymar revealed he wanted to play with former FC Barcelona and PSG teammate Lionel Messi. Neymar says he thinks there is still time for them to reunite once again on the same team. Messi currently plays at Inter Miami in the MLS, and his contract expires at the end of 2025. Neymar now seems unlikely to play in the MLS with Messi, even though he did say he wishes to play with him again. The Brazilian has expressed his desire to play in Europe again, but instead, he might return to the first professional club, Santos FC from Brazil.
Santos president Marcelo Teixeira hints that Neymar will return to Santos FC
Mundo Deportivo reports that Teixeira says the process to sign Neymar to Santos will take time. Teixeira said, “He has a relationship of appreciation, respect, and gratitude towards Santos. I think that path (his return) is inevitable. But for now, I see a void in his intention to return to Brazil as many things need to develop.”
