Neymar Jr laughed on a post comparing him to a PSG star but it’s not Mbappé.
Neymar will hold the record for the most expensive transfer move in football history when he moved from FC Barcelona to PSG for over $250 million. Neymar played at PSG from 2017 to 2023, as he left PSG last summer to move to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. Neymar seems to have left the French club on bad terms and also is rumored to have fallen out with Kylian Mbappé. Rumors speculated that Mbappé and Neymar’s friendship was broken for a while, and both couldn’t be together at the same time.
Before Neymar departed from PSG, many football journalists and fans speculated that Mbappé forced Neymar on his way out of the club. It was confirmed that Neymar was leaving the club when he was choosing between FC Barcelona or a move to Saudi Arabia. Neymar chose Saudi Arabia, and PSG replaced him with signings Marco Asensio, Kolo Muani, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembele.
As PSG are still first in Ligue 1 this season, the attackers have not lived up to expectations in goals and assists. An Instagram post compared Ousmane Dembele’s stats for PSG to Neymar’s goals for PSG this season. Dembele scored one goal for PSG, while Neymar scored two before he left for Saudi Arabia. Neymar left a laughing emoji on a post comparing his goalscoring record at PSG this season with Ousmane Dembele and shocked the football community. Many football fans find it funny because Dembele was expected to replace Neymar but the $55 million transfer fee seems to not pay off so far.
When did Neymar score two goals for PSG this season?
The Instagram post that compared the goalscoring records of Dembele and Neymar suggested that Neymar scored two goals for PSG this season against one goal from Dembele. Dembele does have one goal in Ligue 1 this season so far. Neymar’s two goals were from a PSG friendly in early August last year against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC. Neymar scored a brace in that game and played the entire game. It was the last time Neymar wore the PSG shirt.
