Commenting on the Vibe with Five podcast, former football player Rio Ferdinand had many shares regarding the future of coach Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
After a series of sublime performances since the beginning of 2024, the pressure on coach Ten Hag started to grow again after Man United lost 1-2 to Fulham in the match of round 26 of the Premier League last weekend.
The defeat caused the Old Trafford team to be eliminated from next season’s Champions League group, extending the gap to 8 points, and at the same time causing the plan to build a team at Ten Hag to be seriously questioned even though the Dutch coach had was appointed to the Red Devils hot seat nearly 2 years ago.
Sharing on the Vibe with Five podcast recently, Man United legend Ferdinand said that the 54-year-old strategist needs to prove that he is capable of leading the Red Devils back to their golden age with the team’s new owners.
“If he can help the team get close to the top 4 with a convincing style of play as well as build a culture of never giving up like a big team in the squad, I think he will stay. ”, said Ferdinand. “On the contrary, if he makes everything chaotic and cannot control the dressing room, I think Ten Hag is not the right person to lead the team.”
