Kevin De Bruyne entered in a very prestigious list of top tier players.
It is true that Erling Haaland has gotten all the covers and all the attention, since the Norwegian striker scored five goals in Manchester City’s victory against Luton Town in the FA Cup. However, it should be noted that Kevin de Bruyne also entered to history today, giving four assists in an English football match.
As soon as Kevin de Bruyne achieved the milestone, there was a debate on social media about how many footballers had managed to give four assists in the same match in English football, and to the surprise of some, the list increased to eight footballers.
Here we tell you which other footballers share a place on the prestigious list of four attempts in 90 minutes of English football, a list that begins with Paul Pogba just a couple of years ago.
Paul Pogba managed to assist four times in the same match against Leeds United and became the first Manchester United player to do so, in the 2021/2022 Premier League. Later, Dennis Bergkamp did it with Arsenal in the 1998/99 Premier League, against Leicester City. The list is not over yet, as Jose Antonio Reyes and Cesc Fabregas also did the same while playing for Arsenal, in the 2005/06 and 2009/10 seasons respectively.
Who else is on the list?
Next on the list we find Emmanuel Adebayor playing for Tottenham in 2012, followed by Santi Cazorla a year later. A more current name continues the list, with Harry Kane in 2021. Now, there is a new member of the list: Kevin de Bruyne.
