Through talkSPORT, former player Ally McCoist shared about the Kylian Mbappe – Arsenal deal.
Mbappe is looking for a new challenge and has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital. Real Madrid continues to negotiate the contract but cannot reach an agreement on salary.
Specifically, the French striker’s team was not impressed with the offer from the La Liga representative, which was said to be lower than the agreement reached with Mbappe two years ago.
There is a lot of interest in the 25-year-old French international. According to The Independent, both Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to consider a deal for Mbappe.
Notably, The Independent also confirmed that Mbappe is ready to join the Gunners, in case the transfer to Real Madrid fails.
However, former famous player Ally McCoist commented: “The Mbappe deal not only broke the salary structure but also ruined everything when the transfer happened.”
When asked if signing Mbappe would help Arsenal win the Premier League, McCoist added: “No, I’d still choose Manchester City.
Listen, Mbappe is an excellent player. I like him. But I think there is only one club where he has a chance to go to, which is Real Madrid.”
Previously, Arsenal had contacted Mbappe to sign a contract after his breakthrough 2016/17 season at AS Monaco. However, this player chose to move to PSG.
