Erling Haaland scores two goals in the seocnd half against Everton to give Man City another win.
Man City defeated Everton 2-0 at home in the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland scores again in the Premier League after not scoring in four months. Two of those months were due to injury, but the Norwegian striker is back to his old ways in front of goal. Haaland remains the top goalscorer for Man City and the Premier League. Man City temporarily claim first place in the Premier League with 52 points.
Manchester City did not register a shot on target in the first half at home. This is the first time Man City has failed to take a shot on target at the Etihad in the Premier League since August 2022.
As the second half started, Calvert Lewin showed ambition to give Everton the lead, but his shot went wide. Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne started to warm up as soon as the second half started.
City struggled to get a shot on target in the second half as Everton defended well. De Bruyne finally entered the pitch in the 57th minute for Matheus Nunes, who had a tough game. Man City would then score in the 71st minute, which was their first shot on target.

The header was blocked, and after a few bounces in the box, the ball fell to Erling Haaland. Without hesitation, Haaland smashes the ball past Pickford to score the opener for Man City. Haaland has scored his first Premier League goal since 25th November, when he scored against Liverpool. That is his first goal since his return from injury.
Haaland scores again in the 85th minute. De Bruyne finds a great pass to Halaand, and he uses his strength and pace to get past the last Everton defender, Jarrad Branthwaite. Haaland easily gets past Branthwaite and finishes the ball to the bottom right corner with his favorite left foot. Haaland now has 16 goals in the Premier League. According to Opta, Haaland has now scored 51 goals in 50 Premier League starts, more than any other player’s first 50 starts in the league.
