Pep Guardiola says he has “everything a manager could dream of” at Manchester City as Erling Haaland prepares to return against Burnley on Wednesday.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and Barcelona coach Xavi both recently announced their intention to resign at the end of the season, citing the emotional strain that comes with being in charge at the highest level.
Guardiola also cut his extremely successful time at Barca short after 4 years and spent only 3 seasons at Bayern Munich before coming to Manchester in 2016. Now in his 8th season at Man City, Guardiola has won five Premier League titles and helped the team win the Champions League for the first time out of 15 major titles.
But the 53-year-old said he has no intention of stepping down anytime soon and praised the good environment around him at the Etihad. “I have everything a coach can dream of,” he said at Tuesday’s pre-match press conference.
“The club leadership always supported me. We changed a lot of players in seven years but they all supported me very well. (It was a) good environment so I had everything. However, I I still feel fine and of course one day it will all end but I’m not thinking about that right now.”
