French press reported that PSG is looking to recruit MU star Marcus Rashford to replace Kylian Mbappe whose contract is about to expire. The English striker is currently in trouble with the Red Devils because of disciplinary issues.
PSG has wanted to recruit Rashford many times in the past. However, MU has never wanted to sell mature players from the club’s training facility. However, with Rashford’s current situation, anything can happen.
The English striker has had an alarming decline in form since the beginning of the 2023/24 season. He only has 4 goals and 6 assists after 26 matches in all competitions. Most recently, Rashford was also fined for violating club discipline.
According to the French press, PSG is rekindling its interest in Rashford next summer and will make an offer to recruit the English star if Mpappe leaves the club.
Rashford has never shown any intention of leaving Man United in the near future. But it remains to be seen whether an attractive offer will change his mind. The Red Devils are currently outside of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, while PSG is a regular visitor to this tournament.
Another factor that makes a sale of Rashford more likely is Financial Fair Play (FFP). Man United is said to be unable to carry out transfer activities this month because of concerns about violations. If PSG are willing to pay a significant fee, MU could consider it although they would certainly prefer to see Rashford return to top form at Old Trafford rather than elsewhere.
Last year, PSG reportedly made an offer of £120 million for Rashford. But with his contract still remaining for more than 4 years, the Paris team may have to raise the price further to convince MU to release him.
