On CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano confidently shared that the 2024 summer transfer window saw a top star leave the parent club.
With 21 matches played in the current Premier League season, Manchester United is in seventh place, 8 points behind the top 4 and 13 points less than top club Liverpool. The Red Devils also have one match left.
Maybe this January transfer window is not the time for Man Utd to make a big splash. Instead, they waited until Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover was fully approved, before spending their money on big recruits.
One player linked to Man Utd is Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, the name Erik ten Hag named captain at Ajax when he was just 19 years old. The Dutch player is not having a good time in Bavaria and is open to leaving in the summer of 2024.
Sharing on CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano commented:
“It’s still too early to predict summer transfers, there will definitely be a chance for Matthijs de Ligt to leave in the summer because the situation is still quite open. But it’s too early to mention clubs specifically for him.”
