According to Envoye Special, Mbappe’s representative and mother, Fayza Lamari, stated the biggest request for her son to stay at PSG: ‘If my son can receive 10 billion Euros to stay at PSG, sure. I will agree. There’s nothing to be ashamed of because life works like that.’
Mbappe became one of the highest-paid athletes in the world when he rejected Real Madrid’s offer and accepted a salary worth 72 million Euros (£62 million) to extend his contract with PSG in 2022. Although the contract term can last until 2025, the actual contract is only 2 years long with an option to extend for an additional year.
For that reason, the future of the striker born in 1998 is becoming the most discussed topic in recent transfer periods. Mbappe has not yet made any move to extend his contract with PSG and will become a free agent in June this year, at which time Mbappe can decide his own destination.
Although PSG wants to keep Mbappe, the condition that can be said to be ‘as difficult as heaven’ from Ms. Fayza Lamari also makes the rich French team have to think twice. According to many sources, Mbappe is expected to receive a huge amount of up to nearly 70 million Euros/year, equivalent to nearly 2 million Euros/week.
Of course, the 10 billion Euro figure that Mbappe’s mother mentioned will come from many other revenues, not just the salary from PSG. Currently, Mbappe’s future is still unknown, but if the Paris team accepts this new offer, the development of this deal will have a huge turning point.
