PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, announced that he had reached a personal agreement with Kylian Mbappe and criticized Lionel Messi.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as a guest of the program “Rothen s’enflamme” on RMC Sport (hosted by former player Jerome Rothen), gave the latest statements about Mbappe.
The head of PSG affirmed that Mbappe is the center of the project of the French capital club.
President Al-Khelaifi’s statement took place immediately after news that Mbappe had reached an agreement to join Real Madrid.
“I want Kylian to stay, that’s very clear,” Al-Khelaifi said. “Mbappe is the best player in the world and the best thing for him is PSG.
This is the heart of the project. Athletically, we gave him everything. Kylian has a deal with me.”
The Qatari businessman elaborated: “Kylian is a great player, also a great person.
As Kylian said after the Trophée des Champions (French Super Cup; PSG beat Toulouse 2-0, Lee Kang In and Mbappe scored – PV), he had an agreement with me.
It’s between us, I don’t want to reveal what’s in the deal, but it’s a deal.
I don’t want to mention money or talk about the value of this deal. We have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’, our agreement has nothing to do with money.
This agreement is between the player and the club president, sporting director and coach. It is more than an agreement signed on paper.”
Al-Khelaifi also criticized Messi, who left the club last summer and made not very positive comments.
“I respect Leo very much, but if someone speaks ill of PSG after the breakup, it’s not good.
That’s not respect. He’s not a bad person, but I don’t like that.
This is not just for Messi, but for everyone. We should talk when we’re together, not after we leave. That’s not PSG’s style.”
