Barcelona’s home page confirmed that the club has been able to begin plans to upgrade its home stadium.
since June, spotify Nou camp has been undergoing redevelopment work, with Barcelona embarking on the “Espai Barca” project. Demolition of the old stands is almost complete so that construction of the new stadium can begin.
Barca has applied for a construction permit from the city council in the past two months and the club’s homepage reported that their request was officially approved. The team’s leadership hoped to achieve approval by the time the club General assembly takes place at the end of this month and their wish has just come true.
Luckily for the Blaugrana because their plan was exactly as scheduled. if not, Barca’s schedule to return to Nou camp to compete will be affected. The plan to organize matches at spotify Nou camp is before November 2024.
Thanks to the latest approval, the catalan giants will have to complete the majority of the stadium reconstruction project by the end of the 2023/24 season. currently, coach Xavi Hernandez and his team are playing home matches at the Olympic stadium in Montjuic.
