Sharing on the Manchester United homepage, midfielder Lisandro Martinez is confident that he will soon return from injury to fight with the club for success in 2024.
“My recovery is going as well as expected. I feel strong and healthy after working with physiotherapist Ibrahim Kerem. He and the medical department took excellent care of me.
I know that I will be back soon, very soon. But it takes time, we need to be patient. I love Man Utd, I love this place. I feel so grateful to be here every day.
The past time has been difficult, especially when you had two injuries and missed nearly six or seven months. But I feel strong inside my mind. I receive good things from my family, to never give up, it makes me even stronger.”
MU’s Argentine midfielder has been absent since being injured in the Champions League match at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena on September 20.
Since then, Martinez has worked diligently with medical staff, including many individual sessions to promote recovery. The Argentinian player’s efforts have now almost paid off.
The return of Lisandro Martinez is important to Man Utd in the context that No. 1 midfielder Harry Maguire is also injured. The 25-year-old player is the name that will provide more “fierce” quality to the Red Devils’ defense, something that the remaining central defenders such as Varane, Lindelof, and Jonny Evans rarely show.
That is necessary in the context of MU preparing to have a number of important matches in early 2024. These include the match against Wigan in the third round of the FA Cup (January 9), hosting Tottenham at home (January 14) and play the second leg against West Ham (February 4).
In particular, the two London teams are direct opponents ranked before and behind MU on the Premier League rankings. Therefore, they will need to win these matches to have a chance of rising out of 6th and getting closer to the top 4.
