The Brazilian superstar, who is hotly tipped to be the star player at this summer’s World Cup when the competition gets underway later this week, was comforted by his mother as he was given a surprise trip back to his humble beginnings.
TV program Caldeirão do Huck created the replica version of Neymar’s first house in San Vicente on the coast of Sao Paolo.
It featured the tiny living room where the family used to socialise, as well as the bedroom, full of footballs, where young Neymar grew up.

As soon as he opened the door to his old room, Neymar immediately broke into tears.
The blubbering continued as he walked around the space, picking up items from his childhood, including football shorts and trophies.
After a short time of reflection, Neymar’s parents, his sister Rafaella and girlfriend Bruna Marquezine all eventually made their way into the room to share the experience with him.

His mother Nadine said: “He looked at me and asked me ‘why mom? And I did not know how to answer him.”
Neymar’s parents and his sister helped the TV producers to recreate the room, which also featured pictures from the family’s past.
But even they could not help but cry as the nostalgia of being in a near exact replica of their former home took over.
The episode, which was filmed during Neymar’s recovery from surgery on his foot ahead of the World Cup, was first aired on Saturday.
Writing on Instagram, Neymar thanked presenter Luciano Huck and said: “Today you can see one of the most incredible tributes that have made me. Thanks @lucianohuck and the whole team for providing this moment.”
Neymar’s World Cup campaign begins on Sunday with a game against Switzerland.
