On the back of his stellar shows on the soccer field, Kylian Mbappe, 24, has established himself as a superstar transcending the sport. From lucrative signing endorsements to crossing paths with elite athletes outside of soccer, Mbappe has been living a king-sized life. The 2018 world champion has famously interacted with NBA icon LeBron James and set a stir in the sporting world. Now, yet another NBA star wants to come together with Kylian Mbappe, offering a surprise collaboration for a noble cause.
Sporting icons rarely shy away from acting for the greater good. Such campaigns become all the more important and exciting when talents from two different sports merge. Turns out, the sporting world might witness a stunning collaboration of three-time NBA All-Star Rudy Gobert and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.
The Minnesota Timberwolves icon Rudy Gobert has not failed to notice the exploits of fellow Frenchman Kylian Mbappe. Gobert was in high spirits while speaking about Mbappe to Radio France Bleu. A report on le10sport has laid bare Gobert’s thoughts on Mbappe and his plans for a collaboration. “I’d love us to do things together. Kylian is someone I really like. I have a lot of respect for him,” said Rudy Gobert.
Then, the Wolves center revealed his aspiration to collaborate with Mbappe. “I haven’t had much opportunity to meet him in the context of our foundations. We haven’t done any events with the kids yet, but I’m telling you, I’d love us to do things like that together in the future,” Gobert added.
Back in Rudy Gobert’s Utah Jazz days, he chanced to meet with Kylian Mbappe in their homeland, France. Gobert gave his Jazz t-shirt to Mbappe and got back his PSG colors. The 3x-All-Star cherished the moment by sharing it on his social media handles. Besides, Gobert once gave a shoutout to Mbappe when he surpassed Lionel Messi in the UEFA Champions League to become the youngest player to net 20 goals.
Although France gave a tough fight to Argentina in last year’s World Cup final, the latter had the last laugh. However, Mbappe then lit the stage with three goals, earning stripes from Rudy Gobert. Given this great equation and the noble aim, the Gobert-Mbappe collaboration is something worth waiting for.
