TNT Sports experts believe that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are not satisfied with coach Erik ten Hag’s tactics.
TNT Sports experts say that Man Utd’s stars are not satisfied with coach Erik ten Hag’s playing position arrangement. Former player Jermaine Jenas believes that players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial implicitly send messages to the team’s head coach with their gestures on the field.
“Personally, I think there are signs that some players are not satisfied with their tactics or playing position,” commented Jermain Jenas.
“Body language in a football team will tell you many things. Some of them are sending a message to the head coach. Today, I saw Marcus Rashford on the right wing, the way he walked and waved his arms like wanting to say ‘look, I don’t want to play on the right wing anymore’.
Or many times Martial let Fabian Schar move freely in the center circle and do anything. I think Erik ten Hag is a disciplinarian but the players don’t have the same respect for him today. That’s a big problem,” the former Tottenham player added.
In the 0-1 loss to Newcastle, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were introduced from the start. However, their performance was very lackluster and they had to leave the field in the 61st minute.
Previously, in the first half, coach Erik ten Hag shouted and gestured dissatisfied with Martial. This player let Fabian Schar freely deploy the ball, leading to danger for Andre Onana’s goal. The French striker reacted to the head coach.
Expert Ally McCoist affirmed: “This is not the coach’s fault. When you go on the field, you have to play for yourself and the fans. They have worked hard to cheer for you.”
Ally McCoist assessed that besides Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, the remaining players all played below average.
