Chemicals billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is on track to complete a £1.3 billion investment in the Red Devils, which will see him hold a 25% stake in the club.
Although only holding 25% of shares at Man Utd, Ratcliffe will be given the right to hold the sports management segment at the Red Devils. Ratcliffe – the second richest person in England, will also invest 245 million pounds in improving Man Utd’s stadium and training ground infrastructure.
Alex Ferguson – who had great power when in charge at Man Utd even when the Glazers took over this team in 2005 and he was also criticized a lot when trying to protect them.
Since Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, success at Man Utd has gradually ‘dried out’ and they have now been surpassed by rivals Liverpool and Man City.
But Sir Alex Ferguson is ‘confident’ that billionaire Jim Ratcliffe’s investments will positively affect the future of Man Utd.
“I still follow the team and I know Jim Ratcliffe very well. We will have to see what he will do but I am very optimistic about the future” – Sir Alex shared.
Man Utd fans expected this takeover to happen quickly, but even the delay and waiting for the Premier League Organizing Committee to approve it took up to 8 weeks.
