A young mother has shocked her TikTok followers with a pair of colossal 7-month-old twin babies, weighing three times their birth weight.Alexis Larue, a 22-year-old from Minnesota, USA, can hardly believe that her twin daughters, Camila and Elena, are growing at an astonishing rate, weighing a staggering 21 lbs each.
The mother had to share a video of weighing her children to prove that they truly are as big as they appear, and that she did not manipulate the footage.
Therefore, with Alexis, who stands at only 5’3″ and weighs 116.4 lbs, carrying both of her babies at the same time, it creates quite a humorous sight. Alexis frequently posts videos comparing her size to that of her babies.
She has amassed over 700,000 followers on this platform and has garnered more than 24 million likes on her videos. Most of her videos showcase the outrageous size difference between herself and her children.
Before pregnancy, the mother weighed 108 lbs, but by week 38, she had gained up to 180 lbs. She gave birth to a baby girl in March, with Camila being born at 9:22 AM, weighing 6 lbs 6 oz, followed by Elena, who weighed 6 lbs 7 oz.
Now, approaching seven months old, they have more than tripled their birth weight, weighing nearly 21 lbs each. On April 20th, the mother further stated, “Having newborns weighing around 5 kg or less is extremely common in the twin group.
I had bought clothes for the twins in advance, thinking they would still be quite small. However, with a combined weight of nearly 13 lbs, these baby girls entered the newborn stage and have been growing rapidly ever since.”
Camila and Elena are currently consuming 6 oz of infant formula every few hours and have just started transitioning to solid foods. Leo’s father, who is 5’11” tall, is amazed that the twin pair has already shot up to 2’5″ in just over half a year, leaving the entire family astonished.
Alexis, the babies’ mother, says, “Both of them are off the charts when it comes to weight-to-height ratio. I find myself needing to buy them new clothes quite frequently. They grow so quickly. At seven months old, they can fit into anything from 12-month to 18-month-sized clothing.”
Right after the twin pair was born, Alexis began creating videos of them for her TikTok account, @themejiafamily, to alleviate her boredom at home. However, the couple had no idea how much attention the videos would garner.
“Those are 8-year-old kids,” one skeptical viewer commented. Another person remarked, “If they stand on top of each other, they’ll be taller than you.” A disbelieving viewer commented, “Those are 8-year-old kids.” Another person said, “If they stand on top of each other, they’ll be taller than you.”
There have been allegations that Alexis edits her videos or uses filters to make the girls appear larger, but she denies these claims. She states, “I also receive a lot of accusations of overfeeding them, but it’s really hard to overfeed them.
The pediatrician has no concerns about their size; they just simply grow very fast. If there’s one thing I want everyone to remember, it’s that every baby is unique. They all develop at different rates, and mine happen to develop very quickly. They are healthy, happy, and full of personality.”
