Lionel Messi’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain was not well received by the club’s faithful. After all, supporters rallied against his free agency transfer to Inter Miami this past summer.
For the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony, Messi returned to the French city on Monday. This would be the eighth time in his career that the 36-year-old has won the Ballon d’Or.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup champion has been asked to give the award presentation at the Parc des Princes. On Friday, PSG will host Montpellier, and L’Equipe wondered if he’d be interested in making the trip. Oh, well, I doubt that will occur.
“I don’t think the people of Paris want me to present the Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes,” Messi told a French news site.
Do all scars truly heal with time? Yes. Can it accomplish that in a few months? Maybe. It’s unlikely, though, that Messi will spend the remainder of the week in Paris to help hand out the Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes.
