Erling Haaland won the Gerd Muller award at the 2023 Golden Ball awards gala. The Norwegian star also had words to send to young players after winning this title.
Ering Haaland was unable to beat Lionel Messi to win the first Golden Ball title in his career. After receiving the award, former Chelsea striker and host of the Golden Ball awards ceremony Didier Drogba asked if Haaland had come up with a new celebration for the next goal. Haaland replied to Drogba when receiving the award from Lineker:
“We will see the next goal. I’m celebrating at the moment so I’ll think of both Linker and Drogba when I score the next goal and then I’ll decide.”
