He liked Real Madrid and Man United, but this team even more
Fayza Lamari, Kylian Mbappe’s mom, has revealed his favorite childhood soccer team, and it may not be the one you think.
It is not Real Madrid or Manchester United, the clubs of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. It is not the red and white of Thierry Henry’s Arsenal or Monaco.
Nor is it the classic stripe of Paris Saint-Germain, the team for which Mbappe has become a legend. But it is one he plays against in the Champions League this season.
Lamari said that he had shirts from his favorite players at PSG, Madrid, Rennes and the French national team, but one team stood out above the rest: AC Milan.
“He is the son of sportsmen, but he was immersed in cheering for Milan right from the start,” his mother told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“When he came home, he would only talk about Milan. If Milan lost, he could throw the remote control at the TV and say a few bad words in Italian.”
The love was so deep that he even wore his red and black jersey to bed. But it is Milan who will have the nightmares after facing their lifelong supporter in this season’s Champions League group stage.
His unstoppable near post shot opened the scoring for PSG against Milan at the Parc de Princes, giving him a bittersweet moment against the Rossoneri.
