Manchester City star Jack Grealish has heaped praise on his teammate Erling Haaland.
Jack Grealish has revealed that Erling Haaland’s attitude when he doesn’t score has impressed him even more than the buckets of goals he’s pillaged this season.
Haaland has enjoyed a sublime campaign since joining Manchester City and currently has a remarkable 53 goals to his name. However, there is much more to his game than scoring and the Norwegian sensation has also got eight assists.
Grealish has loved playing alongside Haaland and adores how he is just as happy in setting up a teammate as he getting on the score sheet himself.
“I can’t speak highly enough of him,” he said. “One thing that has impressed me so much about him is that he is obviously desperate to score, but he is not grumpy if he doesn’t score.
“He also loves getting assists. It speaks for itself really how good he is, not just as a goal scorer but as an all-round player. I can’t speak highly enough of him, he is a brilliant guy.”
Haaland’s ridiculous goal rate means he’s a shoo-in to claim City’s Player of the Year award but Grealish isn’t too far behind. The winger has become one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s team sheet and admits he’s enjoying his football at the moment.
“As an attacking player that is what you want to do, you want to get goals and assists,” he continued. “I still feel like I could get more, but that is obviously something that you want as an attacking player, to be contributing to the team.
“I feel like since the World Cup especially, I have been playing so much better. It has been nice to get into a rhythm because I have been playing all of the time, playing in these big games. I am really enjoying it at the moment.
“I feel fit, I feel confident, so hopefully I can keep that up until the end of the season and chip in with a few more goals and assists to try and win us some trophies.”
