After a fantastic career in the Spanish capital, the 37-year-old player decided to move to PSG in France, where he had decent performances. While his performance was not bad, it couldn’t compare to his years with Madrid.
Now, 18 years after leaving the club, the meaning of his return could be the end of his career and he does it back home for a reason that has touched everyone’s hearts.
Why Sergio Ramos decided to return to Sevilla?
In a video released by the club itself, the Sevilla native send a message to the fans, not without first apologizing for past situations. It’s worth noting that in 2017, the footballer had a confrontation with Sevilla’s fan group called Los Biris. Additionally, he revealed the reasons for his return to Sevilla.
It’s been 18 years since I left, and I’ve made mistakes. I take the opportunity to apologize in person and ask for forgiveness from any Sevillista who may have been offended by things and gestures I may have made at that time. […] Returning to Sevilla was a debt to my father, my grandfather, and Sevillismo […] there was no other direction to go.
