The race to sign Mason Greenwood is heating up, with many parties interested in the forward.
This comes after Manchester United revealed in a statement that they are parting ways with the player.
United CEO Richard Arnold wrote an open letter to supporters in which he highlighted that, while he is confident Greenwood did not commit the offenses he was charged with, the Englishman’s future at Old Trafford is no longer a realistic possibility.
Greenwood also stated that he will be leaving United.
According to a report by The Peoples Person, Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma have made contact with the Red Devils to discuss the prospect of acquiring Greenwood’s services.
According to Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, the Giallorossi are not the only ones making advances to sign the 21-year-old.
According to Keegan, “several teams” have approached United.
“It is unlikely that the England-capped forward will join another club in this country.” Instead, a move abroad is on the cards, with Italy, Turkey, and other countries showing interest.”
Back up this information for 90 minutes and go a step further by naming some of these interested parties.
In addition to Roma, Atalanta, who traded Rasmus Hojlund to the Red Devils, is interested in Greenwood.
Inter Milan, who failed to sign Arsenal star Folarin Balogun and Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis, are also interested in Greenwood.
Graeme Baily adds that Ligue 1 heavyweights Monaco, as well as a slew of other clubs in Spain and Germany, are fans of the Carrington academy graduate.
“90min understands that United would prefer to sell Greenwood because his status as a homegrown player would provide a huge boost when it comes to Financial Fair Play calculations,” Bailly claims.
“However, the teams that have expressed an interest in Greenwood, particularly those based in Europe, are more geared toward offering a loan deal at the moment.”
Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo is also said to be monitoring the situation with the goal of bringing the player to the Gulf state.
According to The Sun, Al-Ettifaq manager Steven Gerrard is willing to give Greenwood a second chance.
