Neymar Officially Departs PSG, Joins Al-Hilal with a Salary Surpassing Ronaldo

On the afternoon of August 14, the French press and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the blockbuster transfer of striker Neymar from PSG to Al Hilal club in Saudi Arabia was completed.

“After receiving a huge offer two days ago,  Neymar has agreed to move to  Al Hilal club from PSG club for a transfer fee of nearly 100 million euros. Neymar will sign a 2-year contract, still wearing it. No. 10 shirt at Al Hilal Club. The contract paperwork and medical examination will be completed on August 14, “Fabrizio Romano said.

According to L’Équipe (France): “At Al Hilal Club, Neymar has an income including salary and sponsorship contracts at the same or higher level than superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is receiving at Al Nassr Club”.

Cristiano Ronaldo currently receives an income of about 200 million euros per year, the highest in the Saudi Pro League in Saudi Arabia. Neymar is also expected to receive the same, or higher, thanks to other bonus provisions.

Neymar is said to want to return to his old club  Barcelona. However, coach Xavi refused along with the financial difficulties of the Catalan team. In addition, the offer of the Al Hilal club to the 31-year-old Brazilian star was too generous, so it was difficult to refuse.

Agreeing to Al-Hilal Club, Neymar closed his career in Europe for 2 clubs Barcelona (period 2013 – 2017) and PSG (2017 – 2023), and officially switched to a new chapter of his career. However, according to AS (Spain), Neymar also intends to return to Europe after 2 years playing for Al Hilal club, in order to prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
