Neymar appears to have shown his thoughts about his connection with Kylian Mbappe by ‘liking’ an Instagram post about the PSG star.
According to Sky News, the Brazilian forward has agreed to a two-year contract with Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.
After signing for PSG for a world-record cost of £222 million in 2017, Neymar is now prepared to begin on the next chapter of his career as he gets a physical with Al Hilal.
The departure ends Neymar’s six-year stint with PSG, which did not result in the Champions League championship or Ballon d’Or that he desired when he arrived at Parc des Princes.
Injuries have severely limited his playing time in previous seasons, and he only made 20 Ligue 1 games last season.
However, when fit, the 31-year-old’s skill is still very much present, as he was directly involved in 24 goals in those games.
He is now likely to go, just as Mbappe has returned to PSG first team training.
Neymar ‘likes’ Mbappe’s Instagram post
Mbappe has been barred from participating in first-team training with Les Parisiens due to the continuing drama over his future, with his current contract set to expire next summer.
However, following PSG’s 0-0 draw with Lorient on Saturday, Mbappe was’reintegrated’ back into the group.
According to a PSG statement, “Following very constructive and positive talks between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG-Lorient match, the player has been reintegrated into first team training this [Sunday] morning.”
Prior to the news of Neymar’s move to Al Hilal, the Instagram page @fiqueiputomesmo shared a report from French source L’Equipe, claiming Mbappe warned PSG last summer that there was ‘no more room’ in the squad for him and Neymar.
Furthermore, the article claims that “coincidentally, on the day Neymar was practically announced at Al-Hilal, Mbappe returned to training super happy.”
The post was then ‘liked’ by Neymar’s official Instagram account, with the ‘like’ still there at the time of writing.
After an international friendly against Brazil in September, Neymar was asked about his friendship with Mbappe by media, but he chose not to respond.
Mbappe denied criticizing Neymar in an interview with French television channel Canal+ in February.
Before pursuing Neymar, Al Hilal made a world-record £259 million bid for the France attacker. According to ESPN, Mbappe turned down the opportunity to talk directly with club personnel when they traveled in Paris to arrange a separate deal.
