Moms, that first miraculous moment of holding your ewbor is probably seared into your memory. Relaxing them, right there, in your arms, is part of the most interesting experiences for every mother. Were you able to freeze that moment in time of your brain and heart or is it all a blur? There is a feeling that is compared to the moment you become a mom, but that feels so sweet like seeing your partner with your baby for the first time. Regardless of how your baby came into this world or how this little human being was created, there is something about seeing the person you love the most with her child.
Birth photographer, Moÿet Nicole Moυtrie of Deÿʋer, Ϲolorardo in the USA has been photographing ᴄʜɪʟᴅʙɪʀᴛʜ for the past eight years. In this incredible series of powerful photos, she captures the joy, relief, love, and sheer exhaustion women feel in the first moments of holding their newborn babies. Moet became a birth photographer after witnessing and photographing the last birth of her older sister. After three hospital deliveries, Moet’s sister decided to ɢɪᴠᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜ at home and asked Moet to watch the process from start to finish. She said: “I had no children of my own, and I was ᴍᴇsᴍᴇʀɪᴢᴇᴅ for what the female body was capable of doing.”
When asked why he enjoys photographing ᴄʜɪʟᴅʙɪʀᴛʜ the most, Moet explains that there are always many surprises. She said: “Every birth is completely υпiqυe. Although births tend to follow a pattern, they always seem to surprise us! When I am called to a birth, I know there are a thousand different possibilities. The variety is incredible and makes each birth as exciting as the first one I shot.” Not all women can have the birth experience they hoped or wanted, and this can be disappointing for some mothers. Moët’s powerful photographs are able to illustrate that each of these births, regardless of whether they are ᴠᴀɢɪɴᴀʟ or ᴠɪᴀ ᴀ ᴄ-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ, produce an emotional and joyous outcome.
Moet’s work is amazing. The intense emotions that she captures in these raw moments are staggeringly powerful. Seeing a mother hold her little baby in her arms for the first time after a ᴄʜɪʟᴅʙɪʀᴛʜ marathon, and the emotion that accompanies it, is remarkable. The relief, exhaustion, joy and love that parents feel at the birth of our children is an absolute highlight of life.
