Set in a dystopian future, “Kalki 2898 AD” follows Bhairava (Prabhas), a powerful warrior of mysterious origins. As he navigates a world ravaged by war and environmental destruction, Bhairava is struck by an ancient prophecy.
Amitabh Bachchan plays Ashwatthama, an immortal being from the Indian mythological epic “Mahabharata,” while Deepika Padukone plays Sumathi, a character pregnant with the unborn Kalki, an incarnation of Vishnu. Kamal Haasan takes on the villainous role of Supreme Yaskin. The film combines elements of Indian mythology with futuristic technology, culminating in epic battles spanning both the physical and spiritual.
